New Acne Treatments - Brown Seaweed
Most of the population suffer from acne at some point in their lives, usually between mid-teens and twenties, but a significant number of people continue to suffer later in adulthood. Although not a serious medical condition in itself, acne can have a big effect on trust, to the extent that rates of suicide among people suffering from this condition are six times higher than in others, his group age.
Although there are effective treatments available for some years, they all have side effects ranging from extreme dryness of the skin to potential fetal harm when some of the strongest drugs ingested by pregnant women. This is good news, so when a second, more lenient, treatment is discovered and becomes more available as treatment against acne.
Placebo-controlled clinical study was done recently at the San Gallicano Dermatological Institute Rome, Italy, to test the effectiveness of the new treatment is based on Brown Algae. The sample comprised 60 males aged between 12 and 24 years who had mild to moderate acne group using the new formula has been a significant improvement within three days.
Traditionally, the acne was treated with a cream containing benzoyl peroxide or a course of antibiotics prescribed by a doctor, sometimes both. Acne is caused when an overproduction of male hormone androgen, which affects the small oil producing glands, or sebaceous glands surrounding the hair on the face, chest and back. They produce a substance known as sebum that lubricates and cleans the hair. When the sebaceous glands produce too much sebum the pores become clogged with it and dead cells which in turn feeds the bacteria that lead to red spots full of pus, we are all familiar.
Although effective in most cases, creams based on traditional ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid can be hard and dry skin if used over a long period of time. This new product is based on brown algae much more gentle to the skin while it is also abrasive creams that contain chemicals previous strengths such as hydrogen peroxide or acids. In fact, the new product is hydration, based on natural ingredients.
Researchers in Rome has also noted that the active ingredient in brown seaweed has had a similar antibacterial effect against most common bacteria that cause places, Propionbacterium acnes, as well as more traditional, oral antibiotics, but without the side effects side, which is in their long-term use, and without a prescription.
If you have acne, while it is always a good idea to consult your doctor to rule out any underlying problem, such as hormonal imbalance, the availability of these new treatments will be of great help to make clear, a healthy skin.
